Evolve 91 and MCW Final Hour

EVOLVE 91

ACH and Ethan Page def. Chris Dickinson and Jaka of Catchpoint
-The greatest amount of kayfabe broken in a single match I've seen live. Also, the parody of the cops theme had me laughing so much that I ended up getting merch from Ethan Page.

Darby Allin def. Craig Matthews
-This was Matthews's debut and tryout match in Evolve. Was impressed by how good he was at gathering heat. Also a pretty good standing moonsault. Darby did a good job showing off his wrestling skills in preparation for his match against Tim Thatcher the following night in New York.

Austin Theory w/Priscilla Allen def. Jason Kincaid
-I've seen Austin Theory twice, and have been impressed both times. Never seen him lose. Kincaid is entertaining....but I'm starting to lose interest on the gimmick.  He needs the rage soon.

James Drake and Anthony Henry def. Tracy Williams and Rory Gulak to retain the Evolve Tag Team Championships
-Gulak is Amazing, Tracy Williams is showing his inner Bruderschaft Des Kreutzes roots, and Catchpoint has no idea whether they want to stay good or bad.

Keith Lee def. Timothy Thatcher w/Stokely Hathaway
-I personally enjoyed this match, but admittedly they left a lot on the table. Would be great to see what would happen if they went all out.

WALTER def. Fred Yehi to retain the Progress Atlas Championship
-Best match of the night, and of the weekend. WALTER was very impressive in his Evolve debut and Yehi had his best performance in front of me of the three times I've been to shows. And this is considering the other two times were an Evolve Title match against Thatcher and clinching the Evolve Tag Titles when he submitted Tony Nese in Nese's final Evolve appearance. It slowed a little bit near the end but the finish was nice and sudden. Yehi has a penchant for tapping out to RingKampf members.

Matt Riddle def. Lio Rush in a Non- Title match in Lio Rush's final Evolve appearance.
-This was the first time I had seen Lio Rush live. Thoroughly impressed. Also, always entertained by Matt Riddle. The Bro's been on one hell of a hot streak in 2017.

MCW Final Hour

Larry Legend (who I know of from CZW) was the guest ring announcer for the night

Swipe Right Joe Keys def. Brandon Scott
-Not a bad opener considering this was my first MCW show. I liked the fire that Scott had and Keys's gimmick gave me a chuckle.

Dante Caballero vs. Deonte Ebbs didn't happen because I guess one of the other trainees attacked him from behind and aligned himself with Caballero....eh. That sucked. I had heard a little bit about Caballero and his name came up often when I needed to update on MCW results (Courtesy of Cagematch.net)

The Rock and Bowl Express w/Mr. 300 def. The Punk Rock All Stars and The Hell Cats
-This shows how out of the loop my friend and I were. The MCW faithful were right behind the All Stars and the Cats....and we thought the R&B were funny so we were rooting for them the entire time like the smarks we were. Sure enough, when they won we were pretty delighted to the chagrin of the majority of the crowd.

Dirty Money def. Eric Chapel w/Kevin Eck..
-I recognized these guys from the Expedition of Gold so I'm assuming that this was formerly the Ecktourage now feuding within. Dirty Money seems like a much better heel than face. I only kind of felt sorry for him after his postmatch beatdown. Well... at least he won with a Blue Thunder Bomb

Greg Excellent def. Robert Locke
-I've waited a good while to see Greg Excellent live. From matches with Kimber Lee to doing a strip tease because of the Osirian Portal, Excellent was a comedy character that always seemed to show up in the various indy videos I'd find. Now to not only watch him live but meet him later on was fantastic. Also the match was hilarious, it almost rivaled Evolve's opening match in comedy. Loved it.

Black Wallstreet (Chuck Lennox and Drolix) def. Winner's Circle (Jeremiah and Rayo) via DQ
-I hope Rayo's Filipino. That would be awesome. Jeremiah needs a new moniker....unless he's got some religious related gimmick.  I like Black Wallstreet....just wish I had a better grasp on the character.

Napalm Bomb def. Fenix Fury
-When I heard Black Wallstreet in the last match, Napalm Bomb's entrance was what I would have imagined. Minus the dude with the umbrella (I wanted him to be punched), I liked Napalm's entourage. Fenix Fury wasn't bad....wish he had gotten a little more offense in. Only problem I had with Bomb was his finisher. He can do SO much better than a Swiss Death forearm/punch. (Should have been an uppercut or a shoryuken)

Ken Dixon and Ryan McBride had a contract sigining for Sep.30th in a no turnbuckles match (which is a surprisingly fresh concept).  McBride faked his signature and then knocked out Dixon. Then he revealed to GM Phil Stamper (yes from the same Expedition of Gold) that he hadn't officially signed and then signed. It was fantastically well done.

Lio Rush and The Bruiser def. Robert Lock, Joe Keys, The Rock & Bowl Express, Dante Caballero, Rayo, Jeremiah, and Ken Dixon in a Gauntlet match.
-Great way to send the Maryland crowd home. The heroes beating almost every single bad guy in the promotion. Legitimately happy.
